What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small files that websites store on your device. Browser storage is another way for websites to save information on your device.
These technologies can support website features, remember preferences or track how a website is used.
What we use
Our website sets no cookies. We use session storage only for the quote journey, including our quote form. The form asks one question per screen.
This storage is strictly necessary to provide the service you've asked for, so it doesn't need consent. You can read about the strictly necessary exception on the ICO website.
We use no analytics, advertising or marketing tracking. There are no optional cookies to accept or reject and no cookie preferences to set.
The storage item
The following item is kept in your browser's session storage on your own device:
- Name: vancova-quote.
- Purpose: carries your van registration from the plate box on a page to the form. It also keeps your answers while you fill in the form, so a refresh doesn't lose them.
- How long it lasts: it stays in your current tab and is removed when you close the tab or finish the form.
Your form answers reach us only when you press the final button to submit them. Answers left in the form without being submitted are never received by us.
How to clear it
Close the tab to clear this session storage. Finishing the form also clears it. You can use your browser's controls to clear site storage. Your browser's help pages explain the steps.
Clearing the storage removes your saved answers. If you start the form again, you'll need to enter them again.
Google Fonts
We load fonts from Google Fonts. Google receives your IP address and browser details to deliver the fonts to your browser.
This process doesn't set cookies. It does involve sharing that technical information with Google.
Website hosting and server logs
Netlify hosts our website. It processes server logs containing your IP address, the pages requested and the time of the requests. This helps deliver and secure the website.
These logs are held on servers. They don't use cookies or session storage on your device.

Changes to this policy
If we add cookies or similar technologies that need consent, we'll ask before using them. You'll be able to refuse them and withdraw consent.
We'll update this policy when our use of these technologies changes. The current version will be published on this page.
